Diane Ravitch: On The Daily Show March 3, at the Save Our Schools Teach-in on March 11!
One of the nation's clearest voices for real reform has been Diane Ravitch. This week she will dispel the illusion that the billionaires' "education reform" agenda is working, or has support, in her appearance on the popular Daily Show on Comedy Central. The program will air [on] Thursday, Mar. 3, 2011.
If you are in New York City, please go to the studio at 11th Ave between 51st and 52nd streets, between 4 and 5 p.m. and welcome her with signs as she enters the building for taping.
And Dr. Ravitch has agreed to sit down with activists from Save Our Schools for a ninety-minute webinar 8:30 to 10 pm Eastern time on Friday, March 11. She will share some personal reflections on the intense rounds she has been making, with appearances from New York, Tucson, and Denver to the Daily Show and then to Madison, Wisconsin. We will also discuss ways people can get involved and support the organization of the SOS March in D.C. in July.
The webinar is limited to the first 100 people who register, but we will save ten slots for people interested in organizing house parties for five people or more. So gather friends, fellow teachers, parents and students, for a rare chance to converse with one of our heroes.
